The department of English organised one national level conference on Modern Trends in Indian Writing in English. It was organised on 26 February 2009. It got a huge response from the research scholars and more than 100 delegates including teachers and students participated in the conference. The conference was presided over by Hon. N.B.Shaikh and inaugurated by Dr. Bhagwan Jadhav, Dean SRTMUN. Dr. Ashok Thorat and Dr. Nivargi Mahesh spoke on the new trends in Indian writing in English.
